This Wife sought vengeance after her husband, an Australian serviceman, was scammed by a US Marine. With clever tactics, she brought the incident to the attention of his superiors and made it an embarrassing problem for them. Woe be upon you if you cause embarrassment for the top brass.
This story was posted to Reddit’s r/ProRevenge subreddit by Reddit user u/AussieTopCat, who is an Australian serviceman’s (ex) wife. Her husband, she explains, loves to trade and collect military insignia from all over the world. This is way back in the early days of the internet, so it was (relatively) simple to get a web page up and noticed.
“Back in the early 1990’s when I was married, we had the beginnings of Internet in Brisbane, Australia,” wrote the poster. “My husband (now ex) collected military insignia, and he did trades with force members from all over the world. Basically, they posted pictures of what they would trade, and others responded with photos of what they would be traded for and receive.”
When a US Marine neglected to uphold their end of one of these trades, the wife stayed up all night HTML coding a website in order to ensure she could expose the scammer as effectively as possible.
“You are both a saint and a damn demon,” responded user ragnarocknroll upon reading, “Wow. That was dedication and pure amazing skill. Fantastic.”
