This original video was posted by Tiktok user @mayuhnaise with the caption: Pray for me
In the video the text reads: I was filming a TikTok and I forgot I had a work meeting so I had to join dressed like my dad.
Then you hear her ‘boss’ go: Alright guys let’s get this started, can everyone turn their cameras on for me?
In the middle of her boss saying something else Maya then turns on her camera to expose her costume. Then the text reads: They laughed so I thought I was in the clear, then my boss called me out.
Her ‘boss’ then asks: What’s on your face?
Maya responds: Oh, I was filming a TikTok before this, sorry, I didn’t have time to take it off.
Her ‘boss’ follows up: On the clock?
Maya says: Yeah.
Then her ‘boss’ replies: Okay, well why don’t you take a second and rejoin us?
And finally, Maya says: Okay, so sorry, sorry guys.
The final text reads: Then my boss emailed me and said we needed to talk later today. I’ll let you know if I get fired.
After this initial video blew up, Maya uploaded an update.
So it’s been ten days since I posted that first video and the update you’ve all been waiting for. I got fired.
Then, hours after getting fired, my entire TikTok got banned. A little suspicious, if you ask me. I can’t prove it, but I think we all know who got my account deleted.
To give you guys some background information. I was an intern at a very small consulting firm. My parents were hounding me to get a real job. Even though I do TikTok full time, I already knew posting that video that I was going to get fired because I wanted to get fired.
The people at my company were all really old, like, boomers. And they were just very close-minded. They hated social media, they hated TikTok, and I was always telling them, like, as a consulting firm, you guys should be utilizing the Internet, and they refused.
So in my head, I was like, if they see how many views this gets, maybe they’ll believe in the power of social media and I won’t lose my job.
I still lost my job in the span of a week. My account got deleted, I lost my job, and my childhood CAC got put down. So I’m having a great week, as you can tell. That being said, if any brands see this and want to work with a creator who truly believes in the power of social media and marketing, please comment down below because I really need a job. Thank you for watching.
Then another TikTok user who say her bluff took it upon herself to call her out. Here’s that video.
In this video Ashley is addressing Maya.
The first video and the update you’ve all been waiting for. I got fired.
Except you didn’t. I already know I’m going to have people pissed at me for this, but honestly, I didn’t have anything better to do for the last 30 minutes.
So in your initial video, we can see three other people on the call, one of which has a blank screen. That’s important. It really wasn’t that hard to figure it out.
You can read the names of the people on the zoom call and search it on her friend’s list. You might still be wondering, oh, what if their coworkers and friends could still prove you wrong there?
Now, I don’t want to be extra and post these girls’ Instagram because I don’t think that’s necessary to prove my point. But long story short, that girl right there is going to name that name right there. And from my brief snooping, I was able to figure out that they’re pretty much best friends.
So that’s the thing about social media. You never know if someone is telling the truth. Also, they’re literally laughing before it comes on the screen.
