Black cats tend to carry a bit of bad rap. It is thanks to the Norman and Germanic people that the black cat superstition exists, even though in Great Britain and Japan they are considered to be a good luck symbol. But as cat lovers, we know better. We know that these bottomless pits of black are actually bottomless pits of cuddles, purrs and more cuddles.
Black cats are thought to be one of the ‘friendlier’ cat breeds (they’ll still put us in our place if we forget it) and even retain their friendly disposition while awaiting adoption at kennels (yes you should go and adopt a black cat, especially if you are bothered by shedding fur, because black fur doesn’t show up on black clothing).
