Now that I’ve painted quite a picture, you’ll find that OP’s petty revenge was totally reasonable, as their boss was one of those types of managers. So, instead of staying quiet about the issue, OP enacted some petty payback, which included some good old malicious compliance. They waited for a Karen to come in and ask for something clearly against the store policy, then called their manager, who they knew would immediately fold.
