Calling all cat lovers to recall the time their cat saved them. Nobody? No takers? Okay, I’ll start. So my cat never saved me from any harm they didn’t cause themselves, but my cat saved me from spiraling in my house. Without another living thing around, as social creatures, humans tend to get a little weird when they’re all by their lonesome. We need someone to bounce our ideas off of and to relate to… That’s where the cats come in.
Like tiny, capeless heroes, cats prance into our lives without the intention of ever going out of their way to satisfy their hooman; cats don’t know that they’re going to become the most relatable critter in the house. In fact, the most relatable thing about a cat is their independence and just the knowledge that somewhere in your house, somewhere special, there’s a cat living it’s best life. So for those of us who wander and wonder what our purpose may be, look no further from the kitten beside you.
