The truly special and meowgical quality of cats in general is their ability to make it feel as though they genuinely do not care for you. Anything more than the delivery of fresh food, litter and water can seem to be ufeltterly boring for our feline fur babies. But then, in our darkest hour of need, that is when, off their own accord, our feline friends come to the rescue and brighten our day. When this meowgical event happens, you cannot help but feel seen, heard and loved. The person who has sat by you through breakups, job changes, apartment changes and tragedies and did not move a muscle, now actually cares.
When looked at objectively, this perhaps is not the healthiest of relationships, but it is full of pawdorability, purrs and innocent cuddles. Things that are simply unattainable in hooman relationships anyway, so perhaps we need not judge.
